Closet thoughts

(If you are really happy the way your life is, please do not bother reading this)

Is there a right way and wrong way of doing things? What is right and what is wrong? Can everything in life be seen in black and white? If you answered YES to the previous question, then who is the authority to rely on to label facets of life with the appropriate colour? - Science? But then, what is validified today will almost always be debated and rectified tomorrow. So, if the answer is NO and life is a grey area, then how do we lead it - own rules and principles? But is everyone mature and sensible enough to formulate just rules that would not deteriorate themselves or the world?

Some questions will always be unanswered and some questions are better left unanswered. Life has become a boring continuum of rituals and aspirations. Wake up, brush teeth, bathe, breakfast, work, lunch, travel, hang-out, shop, dine, sleep... over and over again. Thank goodness for a mind that feels occupied when fed on a continuous supply of exciting small talk, office politics, movie reviews and social network updates... thank goodness for a mind that sees adventure and stimulation in the opposite sex and romantic stares... thank goodness for a mind that sees mission and thrill in setting 5 yr and 10 yr goals such as "topping the batch" or "getting a 10% increment" ... thank goodness for a mind that takes affairs so seriously such as getting the kids into a good school or planning a trip to Europe and conscientiously works towards them.

For, if not for this extremely MORTAL appetite of the mind, we would have all long back renounced life. There would have been no institutions of family or school or churches or business organizations ( and of course, no crimes or superstitions or corruption or fakeness). It is only because the majority take man made obligations and social rules so seriously that the world goes on. If each one of us became global intuitive thinkers and started mulling on and questioning the very fragments that this society was built on, we would cease to be fascinated by profits or politics.

After all, the process of a man and woman living together seems more like a fairy tale if told nonsense like couples are made in heaven, there exists a soul mate... intensified by movies and melodies. If we all knew that attraction was a mere trigger of hormones in the brain occuring in every creature from amoeba to the giant whale, intended by nature to facilitate reproduction and continual of species - Nah, doesnt sound too rosy, does it? Our elders sure seem to have planned things well... If the ceremonial yellow rope (Thali in tamil) hadnt been given such a sacred build - up, sure many woman would have come out of wed-lock long ago. Marriages in India are so successful not because women (or men) here are happier or that majority of them are arranged by parents, but because 80% of them do not ever think that THERE IS ANY CHOICE in not sticking to it. THERE IS SIMPLY NO OTHER OPTION left for them. It is simply unthinkable!

Yes, let there be more technology, more distraction, more things-to-do (property to be bought, latest mobile phone to be got to show-off, mutual funds to be acquired).. incorporate them into your daily, weekly and yearly planners... if you get any spare time alone and you start thinking of true purpose of life, shut it off by calling friends over for a drink or going to the office party to bitch about the boss... if there is still any spare time, plan to start a family ( having children is the best way to keep the mind occupied and marriage going steady) ... even then, if there is free time, start taking your kids to soccer practice/dance class/keyboard class (afterall, your neighbour Mr.Ashok takes his kids there) .... still more spare time? Go for a movie...

Why am I writing all this? Oh shit! looks like I did not plan my free time well. Remember, the aim of life is to never ever know what life really is.

SHAME ON US!

you are definately right about the aim of life bit , because my mom has my life planned my life out for my : - first some boarding school in koimbatore , then something about IIT , and then the boring life of engineers ( without giving any consideration that its my life she is planning or without my approval of plan A and she freaks out on me when somethings out of plan ( like me getting bad marks ) so I guess you pretty have the pretty much what life is , and planning life is like planning a military war ( nothing ever goes according to plan ) so I am guessing every expectation will comedown shattering upon us( but it will be for good , because god nevery does anything without a reason )

Hey... I was thinking of writing a blog which is some what similar in nature to this one. That people are just used by some giant money machine to work so hard to earn so much to spend too quick. This would all, of course cease once we deplete all the natural resources. We kill nature and nature will kill us...

Every paragraph of this post was somewhat related to what I had been thinking of writing. Honestly. Though not exactly, but with some relevance.

But, if you are really into knowing who you really are and what 'being-human' means and things which we don't understand :), you should try spirituality. A good place to start is ISHA yoga.

" To work so hard to earn so much to spend too quick" - Good one! :) And yes, as for spirituality, it is not something I have to try, it has become a way of life... a shadow that follows through times, good and bad. ISHA yoga - Hmmm, heard a lot about it. You are a part of it?

ha..ha..ha.. yes, so many things to do in our free time, but if these are to be done in free time, what about the actual time called life.. won't it get boring ?

but i accept that wedlock is given too much of importance that Key of Love is lost in it.

Hey chibi... No, no... What I meant was all these pointless things are being done in the actual time and by chance, if you did get free time, continue to do the same and do not bother pondering over the real purpose of life. Well, of course I am being sarcastic here. The entire post was on a sarcastic note.

Glad you agree on the wedlock thing.

@Sindhuja:
Great to know that spirituality has become a way of your life. ISHA, I have done the basic program and learnt a kriya, but, I think advanced programs are more focused on spirituality. You can try :)
